Dorothy Nakato Mubezi is a Ugandan disability rights advocate and the founder of the Uganda National Self-Advocacy Initiative (UNSAI), a peer-led organization empowering persons with psychosocial disabilities. A UNESCO Literacy Awardee and Zero Project Award recipient, she champions inclusive education, gender equality, and economic empowerment for marginalized communities. Dorothy has conducted groundbreaking research on disability-inclusive employment and facilitated global training on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Through initiatives like the Peaceful Communities program, she equips rural women and girls with literacy skills, fostering autonomy and inclusion. Her work is reshaping disability advocacy across Africa.
