Hon. Fatoumatta Njai is a Member of the National Assembly of The Gambia and a champion for gender equality and legislative reform. Currently serving her second term, she chairs the Gender and Children’s Welfare Committee and is a member of the Human Rights and Finance Committees.
She is also an ECOWAS Parliamentarian and Secretary General of the ECOWAS Female Parliamentary Association. As the founder of the Yayi Denton Programme, she empowers women, youth, and vulnerable populations through skills training. A 2022 Amujae Fellow, Njai holds degrees in Politics, Law, and an MBA, leveraging her influence to increase women’s political representation.
