Nasrin Mohamed Ibrahim is a pioneering Somali journalist and media entrepreneur. In 2022, she co-founded Bilan Media, Somalia’s first women-run media outlet, dedicated to amplifying female voices and addressing taboo topics. She challenges gender norms in Somali journalism, ensuring stories of women and marginalized communities are heard. In 2024, she launched Somalia’s first female-led current affairs TV show. As one of the few female news producers in the country, she is breaking barriers and reshaping media representation. Through fearless reporting and advocacy, Nasrin is championing press freedom, gender equity, and inclusive storytelling in Somalia and beyond.
